CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK EVENTS

Monday, January 30
Story Teller, Lot Therrio, speaks to all grades.

Tuesday, January 31
International Night at 6:30 p.m. in the TCHS cafeteria.
No homework night.

Wednesday, February 1
Special Persons Day, 8 a.m. Mass and reception.
Open House, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, February 2
Open House from 9 to 11 a.m. for parents of prospective students.

Friday, February 3
Ice Cream for all students during lunch courtesy of the HSA.
Special event to be announced from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday

REPORT CARD DISTRIBUTION
Report cards are scheduled to be distributed on Monday, January 30.

BLUE RIBBON ASSESSMENTS
The students will take the Blue Ribbon Assessments in reading and math during the week of February 6 - 10.  Teachers use the results to chart student progress and plan for students’ needs.

YEARBOOK ADS AND ORDERS
There is still time to place an ad and order a 2012 yearbook.  Don’t delay as ad space is limited!

ANNIE, JR. AUDITIONS
Auditions for Annie, Jr. take place on February 7 and 8 with call backs on February 9.  Detailed information was given to all students last Friday.  Sign up times are posted outside room 10.

HSA MEETING
The next HSA meeting takes place on Wednesday, February 15 after the 8 a.m. Mass.


“International” Family Dinner”

The 8th Grade class is requesting all TCMS families to attend an “International” Family Dinner on Tuesday, January 31st at 6:30 PM in the High School Cafeteria.  This is a potluck dinner so bring your favorite international or regional dinner or dessert, or both!
This is a fundraiser for the Rise and Walk Foundation in Columbia.  The 8th Graders are working hard to make this a wonderful event. They are even making the centerpieces in Spanish class!
There is a suggested donation of $3 per person or $10 per family.

If you have not submitted information to be included in the Immediate Response Information System, there is still time.  Information sheets, sent by mail during the first week in January, are available in the office.  Please do it today so you do not miss out on important information.

SECOND QUARTER ENDS - REPORT CARDS DISTRIBUTED

The second quarter ends on January 23rd.  Report cards are scheduled to be distributed on January 30th.

Please join together on Saturday, January 28 at 5:15 p.m. in St. Gabriel Church for our Annual Family Mass.  A pizza dinner follows.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

The celebration of Catholic Schools Week, January 29 to   February 4 is a busy week at TCMS.  Please access the link for a list of the activities.

Catholic Schools Week OPEN HOUSE

Open House for prospective parents and students takes place on Wednesday, February 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  This is a great opportunity to tour the school, meet the administration and teachers and ask questions.  Please let anyone you know who might be interested in attending TCMS to come to this event.

INTERNATIONAL NIGHT - JANUARY 31

Save the date - Tuesday, January 31 - for International Night organized by our eighth grade Spanish students.  More information to follow in handouts that will be given to all our students next week.

FAMILY MASS

Our annual Family Mass takes place on Saturday, January 28 at 5:15 in St. Gabriel Church followed by a pizza dinner.  Please plan to attend.  This Mass satisfies the Sunday obligation.

HSA MEETING

There is no January meeting, but we hope to see all of you at the International Night on January 31.

SPRING MUSICAL PRODUCTION

This year’s choice for a musical production is “Annie, Jr.”  Performance dates are May 17 & 18.  Details about try outs, parent meeting, etc. will be given to the students next week.

YEARBOOK ADS AND ORDERS

There is still time to place an ad in the Yearbook.  Forms are available in the office.  Also, why not place your order for the yearbook at the same time.

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE INFORMATION SYSTEM

If you have not returned the information sheet for the Immediate Response Information System (IRIS), there is still time to be included.  Please send the form to the office at the beginning of next week in order to be included in this information system.  If you are not included you may miss important information.

SPECIAL PERSONS DAY

Don’t forget to discuss with your child who to invite for Special Persons Day on February 1.  Information concerning this event was given to all students to take home on Thursday, January 12.  Please give the correct spelling of the Special Person’s name and address to your child to bring to school on Tuesday, January 17.  Students will be addressing invitations that day during homeroom.  Please remember this is for ADULTS ONLY.  We know that parents are very special people, however, it is also the one day in the school year when parents are NOT invited to school.
